Frequently Asked Questions

Are Your Physicians Licensed?

All TCM physicians at Oak Health are Singapore registered TCM practitioners and acupuncturists. They are licensed by the Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners’ Board (TCMPB) under the Ministry of Health (MOH) and their registration details can be verified on the TCMPB website.

Is Acupuncture Painful?

Acupuncture needles are very thin, and most people feel no pain or very little pain when they are inserted. Once a needle reaches its intended depth, you're likely to feel a mild, dull ache or a slight tingling sensation. This indicates that the treatment is working and the acupuncture point is being activated.

How Long Does One Treatment Takes?

If it is your first appointment with us, give yourself about an hour from the moment you check in to the clinic, to the moment you step out. Try not to schedule anything right after so you can take your time, relax, enjoy the treatment, and let your Qi flows through your body.

How Long Will I Start To See Result?

The length of time before you see results depends on how individual body responds to the treatment. For some conditions, people see results within a few minutes of the first treatment. For chronic conditions, it may take a few weeks or longer to see noticeable results. Recovery rate is also dependent on the consistency of your follow-up treatments and how consistent you are in taking the prescribed herbal medicine.
