Bach Flower Remedy

What is Bach Remedy?

Bach Flower Remedy system is a safe and natural method of emotional healing. The remedies were developed by Dr Edward Bach, a physician and homeopath who believed that the key to good health was by emotional harmony. By 1936 he identified 38 flower remedies, each one derived from a different wild flower, plant or tree, and each corresponding to a specific emotion.

How Does Bach Remedies Work?

Most human illnesses are caused by negative states of mind (e.g., fear, jealousy, despair). There are 38 remedies – each based on one native flower which would alleviate such negative feelings and thus restore health.

The remedies gently restore the balance between mind, body and soul by casting out negative emotions such as fear, worry, despair, stress, hatred and negativity which interfere with the equilibrium of the being as a whole. The Bach Flower Remedies allow peace, joy, and happiness to return to the sufferer so that the body is free to heal itself.

According to Here magazine, to help Diana cope with the 23-hour flight from Sydney to London, Sydney based herbalist, who had been treating her with Bach Flower Remedies for a year, recommended Bach remedies to her. One contained rock rose, to combat terror, Star of Bethlehem, for shock, and cherry plum, to help prevent loss of control.

As Diana stepped from the plane she was reported to have said to her herbalist, “I feel great, fantastic.”

What Will be Expected?

After a consultation, the selected remedies will be mixed into a 30 ml treatment bottle which has to be taken orally at the rate of 4 drops, 4 times daily. A bottle lasts for 2 weeks, which you would then be required to return for review sessions. This is a typical cycle for emotional change, and it is recommended that you take it diligently for at least a period of time to fully experience its impact. The remedies often have a subtle beginning, which gradually becomes more obvious.  An average of  5 sessions is a general suggestion; many people use flower remedies for longer or shorter periods of time, with good results. Bach Flower Therapy can be discontinued when you feel you are completely lifted from the negative emotions which you initially have.
