Auricular Acupuncture

What is Auricular Acupuncture?

Ear acupuncture is a simple and safe method which, on its own or in combination with other forms of healthcare is effective in treating many different painful conditions and ailments.

What Therapeutic Effect Does It Have?

There are more than 200 acupuncture points in the ear. Ear seeds are placed on certain points, usually along meridian lines, to help clear up any qi blockages. In TCM, resolving these blockages may help with a variety of health conditions.

WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Due to a lower back pain once, I was unable to move around at all. I then made a call to Dr Chan, who came down to my house to give me treatment. He had then done some acupuncture on me and within no time, I was able to move around once again with the back pain gone. Highly recommend for people who are suffering from back pains.

What Do I Feel During The Treatment?

You may notice achiness, tingling, fullness, and heaviness, which are referred to as “acupoint sensations”. The duration varies greatly from person to person. It can last anywhere from a few seconds to a day, and still be considered normal.

While using ear seeds, check your ears each day for signs of irritation, such as:

  • redness

  • swelling

  • soreness

  • tenderness

Remove the seeds right away if these symptoms persist after a day.

Any Possible Side Effects After Acupuncture?

Ear seeds are generally safe. They’re noninvasive and don’t require the use of needles, so there’s a much lower risk of infection or bleeding compared to acupuncture.

However, if you have sensitive skin or a latex allergy, metal seeds or adhesive tape might cause some irritation.
